Lavey-les-Bains : the warmest thermal water in Switzerland
At just 2km from the motorway exits, also accessible by Swiss railway (train station St-Maurice and liaison with Swiss postal coach), the Lavey-les-Bains thermal spa is set in an exceptional location. The banks of the Rhone and the beautiful shady park next to the Grand Hotel des Bains*** invite visitors for strolls. The Lavey thermal source was discovered in February 1831. It is the hottest thermal water in Switzerland (69 degrees C).
The health benefits of this water are widely recognized. The three pools (one indoors) offer temperatures ranging between 32 and 36 degrees C, jacuzzi, waterfalls, jets, a counter-current circuit and bubbling water beds. Admission to the baths also comprises access to the Nordic Pavilion and its "Sauna Ceremonies" in the Oriental Area, complete with hammam and Turkish baths, as well as to the Serenity Lodge comprising a room with Wood's lights, a colour therapy room (sensory) and a relaxation area with log fire and foot bath.
The Wellness Area offers a wide range of beauty treatments (SOTHYS), massages and programmes over several days.
At the Grand Hotel des Bains***, 68 comfortable and quiet rooms and suites, as well as a great number of modular and well-equipped seminar rooms allow visitors to combine business with pleasure and work with relaxation. There is indoor access to all wellness areas as well as to the Lavey-les-Bains Medical Center. The restaurant "Oasis" or the more typical "Châlet des Bains" propose hot and cold buffets or varied menus.
